Located in Wisconsin’s beautiful Hidden Valley Region, these elegant Victorian-era Bed and Breakfasts offer a unique and memorable opportunity to simply relax or enjoy the many activities available in and around Vernon County.
The Viroqua Heritage Inn Bed and Breakfasts include the Boyle House and the Eckhart House, located across the street from each other in a quiet residential neighborhood adjacent to downtown Viroqua, Wisconsin.
Boyle House

A graceful step back in time awaits you at the Boyle House. Built in 1890 by prominent Lewis C. and Ella Tate Boyle, this Victorian-era house has many unusual architectural features including a Queen Anne Tower; embossed, raised, metal flower garlands decorating the porches; rosetted brackets; porches with turned balusters, spindles and columns; and leaded-beveled glass and circle top windows. Unusual interior features include ornate flowered, tile-faced columned and bevel-mirrored oak fireplace mantles with wood carvings, and embellished summer grates; unique gas /electric brass and crystal chandeliers (gasoliers); beautiful hardwood floors and woodwork.
Furnished with vintage antiques and Oriental rugs, the downstairs is especially cozy, offering a step back to the romantic, peaceful, unhurried grace and elegance of the Victorian era. Downstairs, guests will enjoy two fireplaces and an enchanting parlor-music room that features a victrola and an antique baby-grand piano, previously owned by silent movie star Coleen Moore, a beautiful sitting room and a formal dining room furnished with the original oak buffet and dining table and chairs. A spectacular red oak staircase leads to the four guest rooms upstairs. Also on this floor is a balcony overlooking a lovely garden.
Guests at the Viroqua Heritage Inn are served an abundant full breakfast, organic when possible, at the guest’s chosen hour. The inn was featured in October 1992 Smithsonian magazine, April 1993 Reader’s Digest and La Crosse Tribune November 2004.
Eckhart House

Across from the Boyle House is our other delightful bed & breakfast-this one in the 1897 English Tudor Revival style. The Eckhart House features leaded windows and beautifully restored woodwork throughout the house. The cozy, enclosed sunporch makes a delightful place to sit quietly, read or have a cup of afternoon tea or coffee. Outside, the garden, with its trellis seat and pond offers a wonderful place to relax and enjoy your stay in Viroqua
Guests at the Eckhart House are served an abundant full breakfast, organic when possible, at the guest’s chosen hour. Breakfast is served in the Boyle House dining room or porch, across the street.
Eckhart House is perfect for a romantic getaway or a family vacation.
